What We Believe

Our family in Christ in the Carbon Valley area believe in the Bible as our authority.  We follow New Testament Christianity, with no added creeds or human authority.  We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and we believe that the Bible is from God.  We strive to follow the pattern laid out for us in the New Testament.  We come together the first day of every  week to worship. Our worship includes reading scripture, prayer, a cappella singing, fellowship in the Lord's Supper, giving, and preaching. 

• Jesus is God in the flesh and is the ONLY means of salvation. There are no other paths to God, but through Jesus Christ.
• God's plan of salvation is by Grace through faith, with obedience being an essential component of faith. Therefore, in order to be saved from sins, a person must: Hear the gospel, Believe on Jesus, Repent of sins and a sinful lifestyle, Confess Jesus as the Christ and loyalty to His name, Be Immersed in water to be born again, to receive forgiveness of sins, and to be added to the one true church of Jesus, Live Righteously by practicing the commandments of the New Testament.
• God's will for the church and the home is to have male spiritual leadership. 
• Marriage is designed and created by God to mean One man and One woman for life. 
• Children are born innocent. They are born into a world with the consequence of Adam's sin (physical death), but not his guilt. Each person is accountable to God for their own sins.
